Grand Canyon Skywalk
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge suspended 4,000 feet over the Grand Canyon. It is located at Grand Canyon West, an area outside of Grand Canyon National Park. The Skywalk offers visitors a stunning view of the Grand Canyon with the majestic Colorado River on the left and a giant eagle silhouette carved in the Grand Canyon wall on the right. The bridge juts out 70 ft from the edge of the chasm, with a glass-bottomed walkway revealing the canyon from a dizzying perspective.
Opened in March 2007, the Skywalk cost $40 million and consumed one million pounds of steel to construct. It can withstand 71 million pounds of weight and canyon winds of 100mph.
