Palm Drive
An imposing half-mile-long, palm-tree-lined boulevard serving as the grand entry way to the Stanford campus. Palm Drive starts out from the west end of University Avenue in Palo Alto and extends all the way to the heart of the campus, the Quadrangle which is bordered by the phallic Hoover Tower and the colorful gold-leaf mosaics of the Memorial Church. In its century-long existence, Palm Drive has had a bumpy and muddy history.
